■ Use 6mm seam allowances throughout unless otherwise indicated.

■ Seam allowance is included in the templates.

■ Fabric measurements are WxH.

■ Arrows on the pattern templates indicate the direction of plush pile. Note that on the ears the nap on the plush pile runs upwards.

■ Always tack seams before sewing and remove tacking stitches after sewing.

■ Fasten off at the beginning and end of stitching, unless otherwise indicated in the instructions.

Pull the needle up through the fabric and then back underneath the fabric to the first eye area. Repeat once or twice more, gently pulling the thread taut as you go. Fasten off, before taking the thread away from the area and snipping it. 05

Step three To sew the nose and mouth, use four strands of pink stranded cotton. Draw the lines using a disappearing marker, or mark the area with pins. Sew two long straight stitches to create the nose shape. Catch the threads near the bottom with an overstitch or two to make the long stitches slightly curve outwards. Continue to backstitch two or three short stitches downwards and then backstitch the curves of the mouth. Fasten off back towards the centre of the mouth. 06

MAKING THE BODY

Step one Pin and sew the Belly to the Front Body, from A to B. These are opposing curves, so will need easing to fit. Start by pinning at each end at points A and B. Add more pins around the curve. Tack and then sew, very slowly. Raise your presser foot after every few stitches to check the fabric is not puckering underneath. 07

Step two Clip notches in the seam to ease it. Step three Sew the dart on the Body Back piece. Step four Tack the legs to the RS of the bottom of the Belly, facing in. Check the orientation will be correct when the body is turned RS out. The outside edge of each leg should match up with the Belly seam on both sides. Tack in place, close to the
