MAKING THE HEAD AND EARS

Step one Pin and sew a pair of outer and inner Ear pieces, right sides (RS) together. Trim and turn RS out and press. Fold the ear towards the front, matching seam edges. Sew a few stitches along the fabric edge to keep the fold in place. Repeat to make the second ear. Set aside. 01

Step two Pin one Head Gusset to one Head Side, RS facing, from A to B. Tack and sew. 02

Step three Sew the other Head Gusset to the opposite Head Side piece, from A to B. Trim and clip notches in the seams to ease them. 03

Step four With RS facing, sew the short seam between point B at the front of the head down to point D at the front of the base of the neck. Clip a notch in the seam to ease it. 04

Step five With RS together, sew the centre seam of the Head Back pieces, from point A to point E. Ease the fabrics so they lie smoothly together.

Step six Tack the ears onto the RS of the head, facing in. Each ear should sit halfway across the head gusset seam at either side. The ear inner sides should face the RS of the head. Check the orientation is correct, then tack in place. 05
