Two readers tell how powerful forces brought them their dream partners

Walking through Paris, I noticed the Bali poster in the travel agent’s window. It was the third time the country had appeared in my life that week. Only hours earlier, I’d been scrolling through Instagram and seen several posts about Bali. An advert for Ubud, a district on the paradise island, had also popped up on my computer.

The universe’s message was clear – visit Bali!

But the island is over 7,000 miles from France, my home country, where I was working in digital marketing, so a trip would need to be for a decent length of time. I began saving for a two-month holiday.

In October 2018, three months after the initial synchronicity, I was drifting off to sleep when I had a sudden flash of intuition. I knew I was going to meet a British divorcee. I didn’t know where, or when, but it would happen.

Two days later, I was looking for somewhere to eat dinner and as I passed a local restaurant, I felt a strong pull to go into this particular place.

Inside, I sat next to a man at the bar, who was partially hidden behind a pillar. I said, ‘Hello’. The man half-glanced at me, clearly wanting to be alone.

About 20 minutes later, we started chatting. Mark, who was British, had just arrived in Ubud and was enjoying some space after a relationship break-up.

He’d been single for one whole hour, the first time in 30 years, and swore to remain alone forever. He also revealed he’d been divorced for five years.

But we hit it off big time, and agreed to meet for dinner the following night. I couldn’t believe this was happening, but I’d promised myself to go with the flow.

In the moment

The date went well and I could feel the chemistry between us. We had a lot in common. Mark was spiritual and talked about going with the flow, too!

That night, I dreamt about a
