The Surface Pro name may be veteran, but what’s on offer here is anything but. This 13in productivity king is a highly capable machine and its size means it can be used as a laptop alternative, as a tablet and plugged into a desk setup.

Windows 11 isn’t a patch on iPadOS for touch-friendliness or bespoke app support, but thanks to the Microsoft Store and your favourite web browser, most bases are covered. Where it does beat the iPad lineup hands-down is in its ability to function as a full Windows PC, with all the multitasking capabilities that come from that: although Apple continues to dabble with multitasking in iPadOS, it still isn’t a patch on Windows.

The old Surface Pro hallmarks such as the excellent kickstand (ideal for watching shows or doing presentations alike) and Type Cover add-on remain, but they’ve been redesigned for better functionality in recent years.
