Lawks alordy, what is Polestar up to here?

The Synergy might be just a wild concept for now, but it is real and was recently showcased at the inaugural Polestar Day. Held inside acavernous hangar in Los Angeles, this event also saw the Swedish manufacturer preview several new production models: the Polestar 3, Polestar 4 and, yes, Polestar 5. These names will come as no surprise to anyone familiar with its previous launches, the Polestar 1and Polestar 2.

So what lies ahead?

Well, considering it’s only made two production cars until now, the increasing range is exciting. And Polestar is really pushing things when it comes to design, with some bold ideas that set it apart from the crowd –not least with the Synergy, the end result of an open design contest that drew over 600 entries.

Any tech specs to marvel at? Nope –this is apure concept so the rolling chassis doesn’t contain any workings, but there’s no denying that those svelte lines would be the perfect home for something potent and fully electric… and Polestar does have atrack record of bringing its design dreams to fruition. Other features that definitely will make it into production cars include Level 3autonomous driving, thanks to anew Mobileye Chauffeur system that will appear in the Polestar 4.

What’s the end goal? By 2026, Polestar aims to have five EVs available –including the 4, with its SUV coupe lines; the 5, which is an all-electric four-door GT model; and the 6, which is set to be one of the most stunning roadsters to hit the market to date. But just imagine if the Synergy could actually be built as well…
