Genesis GV70 Snow

Genesis is the posh division of Hyundai, so everything it makes comes with high-end appeal; in the case of the GV70 Snow you also get high-off-the-ground appeal. This is acollaboration between Genesis and German outfit Delta 4x4, which specialises in off-road accessories and is known for regularly competing in the Paris-Dakar Rally.

Clearly this variant of the GV70 is primed for the white stuff, but it’s loaded with enough kit and ground clearance to make it ideally suited to sandy deserts or muddy fields too. Widened arches house aset of Klassik Brugged wheels with all-terrain BFGoodrich tyres.

Well, why not? The Genesis GV70 works just great as apremium mid-size SUV that can be had in petrol or diesel variants. There’s also the Electrified GV70, which is probably the most entertaining of the lot. While Genesis execs are being cagey about whether or not the GV70 Snow will actually go into limited production, the higher-up style statement would definitely work –especially on the UK’s crumbling highways.

Um… we know it should be faster than ahorse. Genesis unveiled the GV70 Snow at White Turf, which is held in St Moritz and features horseracing on asnow-covered frozen lake. It was used mostly as acosmetic backdrop for the event, but at one point Genesis pitted one of its GV60 cars against racehorse Votre President, gettingadead heat in the first run and bagging awin in the follow-up. Which is interesting if nothing else.
