Our Holidays
It’s known for its rich royal history, but this historic town has much more to offer
1 Soak up the history
Of course, no visit to Windsor is complete without a trip to the castle to see how the royals live. For the ultimate royal experience, take in the grand ceremonial rooms, decorated with gold and chandeliers, which were used by Queen Elizabeth II to entertain guests. After a tour of the castle, grab a bite to eat at the Undercroft Café where you can treat your tastebuds to ice-cream made with milk from the herd of Jersey cows at the Windsor Royal Farms. Time your visit to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony that takes place on Thursdays and Saturdays. Visit rct.uk
2 Sweet treats
If you have a sweet tooth, a visit to Dr Choc’s is not to be missed. Despite being the world’s smallest chocolate factory, Dr Choc’s serves up lots of delicious treats from chocolate dipped fruits to golden buttons. For a more interactive experience, take a chocolate-making class where you’ll learn everything from how to temper chocolate, to creating your own bonbons. Or take part in a chocolate tasting, to experience chocolate from all over the globe. Heavenly! Visit drchocs.com
3 Get building
