Chef’s perks

Each of the four products in the Tesco Chef’s Collection was designed by a Tesco in-house chef, inspired by a restaurant dish and uses the finest ingredients. We love the Finest Vegetable & West Country Cheddar Pastry Pithivier with Salsa Verde (£22, serves 4), and the Finest Lobster & King Prawn Thermidor Rolls Kit (£24, serves 2-16). Available through Tesco Festive Food to Order, with a limited run in 441 stores.

Mince-pired!

Rosebud Preserves Almond & Orange Mincemeat is great for festive baking. Mince pies aside, it can be folded into cake batters, added to biscuit dough or swirled through pancake batter. The mincemeat can even be dolloped warm on to ice-cream. We love the recognisable ingredients list, the fantastic flavour and the fact that no suet makes it suitable for vegetarians. £6.95/340g jar or £11.95/450g kilner jar, rosebudpreserves.co.uk (Order by 18 December for pre-Christmas delivery).
