The English Garden Magazine

May is finally here, and we can revel in the warm air, our blooming gardens and the excitement of show season. RHS CHELSEA Flower Show is, of course, the big one, and we have lots of previews, news and advice throughout the magazine to help you make the most of your visit, or get in the loop so you can watch on TV. We’ll be posting stories and photos during show week on our website and social media, so you can keep abreast of the highlights with us too. Also in this bumper issue, we have pages and pages of gorgeous seasonal gardens - big and small, town and country, full of a variety of plants from RHODODENDRONS at Ramster (pg 40) to ravishing ROSES at Beaminster Manor (pg 54). We are delighted to feature the accomplished little plot of Sibylle Kreutzberger, a former head gardener at SISSINGHURST in Kent (pg 99). SARAH RAVEN has top tips for May from her garden at Perch Hill (pg 18) and Chris Beardshaw chooses the best FOXGLOVES (pg 107). As well as hitting the shows with gusto and visiting as many gardens as possible, this month I will also be getting my gardening fix helping out Tamsin at our home garden, while my own house and garden undergo some serious building work. How marvellous to have such a beautiful place at our disposal. Do come visit us and say hello. Stephanie Mahon, Editor
