Oh, Those Summer Nights

One of the great joys of summer is getting to spend long evenings outside in the garden. Things can get nippy once the sun has set, however. Enter the firepit, and specifically Morsø’s sleek little Ignis. Highly portable and easy to light and clean out afterwards, the Ignis is based on the Danish manufacturer’s archival cooking equipment designs. The firepit is made from solid double-coated cast iron and is designed to be low maintenance. Accessorise the Ignis with a rust-resistant stainless-steel top grate to turn it into a small barbecue. Calling Outdoor Cooks

Outdoor kitchens have become increasingly popular in recent years, and now regularly feature in designs at RHS Chelsea. This year, oak furniture manufacturer Gaze Burvill releases its Acorn Outdoor Kitchen Collection, complete with worktops, drawers, cupboard space and the option to add an outdoor fridge. A highlight is that you can add a cooking appliance of choice to the pre-designed layout. That could be a Big Green Egg, Wolf, Gozney or DeliVita pizza oven, which should cover the bases of the most ardent outdoor cooks. The modular design can be added to and has a lead time of eight to ten weeks.

Gaze Burvill recently achieved B Corp certification, joining around 8,200 business around the world committed to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Acorn outdoor kitchen, from £20,700, gazeburvill.com
