“This year embrace maximalism with plenty of statement lights, decorations and furniture. Don’t worry about anything matching – the latest trends include an eclectic approach – so just go for what you love. Wreaths can be used indoors, too, to add some cheer to walls or hang on a mirror. Here (above), we’ve taken a maximalist approach, using an oversized wreath to create a focal point for a bar area at a party. It adds instant wow factor and would also look great placed in a hallway to give guests a fabulously festive welcome.”

“When it comes to decorations on a fireplace, the more the merrier! For all-out festive foliage, incorporate a garland, draped delicately over the mantel, hung high on the chimney breast above, or used to frame architectural detailing within the home. Ivy, conifer branches, and eucalyptus are great additions to create a dramatic festive focal point. This impressive garland makes a feature of the chimney breast, adding drama while allowing space for candles or other decorations. Some small hooks might be needed to secure the garland at picture rail height. Choose a definite colour theme and stick to this throughout. Luxe deep blues and glimmering gold details combine to fashion a dramatic, glamorous feel. Use paper decorations, plenty of baubles, lanterns, candles, and not to forget twinkling fairy lights.”
