ENGLAND-BOUND: German boss Andre Breitenreiter

HUDDERSFIELD Town believe they are entering an exciting new era with the appointment of German head coach Andre Breitenreiter.

The Terriers revealed the identity of their new boss on Thursday and the 50-year-old is set to take the reins from caretaker manager Jon Worthington tomorrow.

Breitenreiter won the Swiss Super League title with FC Zurich in 2021-22. He also led two clubs in his homeland, Paderborn and Hannover, to promotion to the Bundesliga.

Huddersfield said there was interest in Breitenreiter’s services from clubs in Germany and Turkey - and recent interest from a national team. He has agreed a two-anda-half year contract with the Championship strugglers.

“I’m very excited about Andre’s appointment,” Nagle told the club website.
