SUPER-sub Jovon Makama was hailed by Lincoln City head coach Michael Skubala after scoring a late winner just two minutes after stepping off the bench.

It looked like being a frustrating afternoon for the Imps, who had been shackled by Leyton Orient for just over 89 minutes until Makama popped up at the death to fire the Imps into the play-off places.

“I am pleased for him – I see him in training every day and I know the quality he has,” said Skubala, who now takes his in-form team to Carlisle tomorrow.

“It’s going to be a tough game and we’re going to have to be on it again.”

Skubala admitted his side had had a battle on their hands, producing just two shots on target as they struggled against their fellow play-off chasers.

“It was a tough game for us and we had to scrap it out,” went on Skubala.

“We were struggling with the physicality, with the wind and with the scrappiness – they played some nice football and it was one of those games when we had to grind it out.

“We weren’t great, but our backline was phenomenal.”
