Páramo unveils new trousers

Páramo’s latest garments are the Alta Trek Trousers, made from Nikwax Wind Resistor Fabric, a closely woven polyester The trousers also have a Nikwax PFAS-free water-repellent and speed drying time.

Features include long thigh control, two zipped handwarmer pockets, two large gusseted zipped thigh pockets, adjustable hem with popper closure, high-sitting yoke to protect the lower back, brace loops and a double popper waist closure.

The trousers come in men’s S-XXL and women’s XS-XXL sizes. Weights are 423g for the men’s and 399g for the women’s. RRP: £125 paramo-clothing.com

Alpkit launches a lightweight freestanding solo tent

The new Ultra tent from Alpkit weighs just 900 grams. It packs down to 42x14cm but has a roomy porch, a high roof so you can sit up, and a stable construction.

Alpkit says environmental considerations for the Ultra were fundamental to the development process. It’s made from PFC- free 10d silicone nylon using a construction method that eliminates the inner is made of mesh and there’s a bathtub groundsheet with a hydrostatic head of 5000mm.

The Ultra pitches inner-first and can be set up quickly with just six pegs. The inner is 210x77cm with a maximum height of 80cm. The porch, which runs along one side, has a maximum depth of 60cm. RRP: £300 alpkit.com

Silva releases new trio

The first of three new compasses, the Typ 1933 is an homage to Silva classics of the 1930s, 40s and 50s. It’s a traditional baseplate model with a machined aluminium grip ring, a declination of 1:50k and 1:25k. It comes with a felt case and retro packaging.
