Woodland fairy

This characterful knitted doll captures the spirit of the forest!

AMANDA BERRY

THIS SWEET doll, designed by Amanda Berry, is knitted in Hayfield’s Bonus DK yarn, and she comes with knitted clothing including a hat, legwarmers, a skirt and shoes; the hair is made from Bonus Super Chunky yarn. The doll is embellished with wooden beads, button eyes, bows on the shoes and a bamboo wand - if you are intending to give this doll to a small child, we advise omitting these embellishments, and embroidering the eyes instead.

PATTERN NOTES

Unless otherwise specified, use the long-tail cast-on for all pieces, and use mattress stitch to sew seams. Block the outfit pieces using an iron on a steam setting hovered slightly over the piece (NOT touching) before making up. Work most pieces flat on single-pointed needles, not in the round. The DPNs are used to work i-cord for the thumbs.

Use the cast-on and cast-off yarn tails for seaming, and weave in other yarn tails on the WS or hide inside the toy. Sl 1 is always worked purlwise with yarn on the WS.
