This V-neck cardigan is decorated with cable motifs inspired by flower buds and stems
EMMA VINING
“THIS V-NECK cardigan features long lines of iris flower buds and stems,” says Emma Vining. “The twisted stitch flower buds are set on long lines of rib, reminiscent of the long stems of iris plants, just before the buds burst into flower. Each stem is placed on a reverse stocking stitch background.”
The ribbed front bands are worked at the same time as the fronts, and the lower edges and cuffs are worked in rib with garter stitch. The sleeves have a single ‘stem’ of iris bud pattern in the centre.
