Inspired by Bauhaus weaving, this short-sleeve cardigan mixes blocks of colour with garter stitch stripes

MARY HENDERSON

PATTERN NOTES

The cardigan is knitted in pieces with back slightly longer than the fronts; the pieces are joined at the shoulders using a three-needle cast-off. The sleeve cuffs and lower border are worked in garter stitch bands of colour. Button bands are worked as part of the front pieces: knit the Left Front first to mark out the buttonholes for the Right Front. Choose your buttons after the buttonholes have been worked so they are the correct size. The neckband is finished with i-cord.
