Pm and join to work in the round, taking care not to twist sts.
Rnd 1: *K2, P2; rep from * to end. Rep last rnd another 9 times.
Change to 4mm circular needles, 80cm long. Work in rev st st (purl every rnd) for 6 rnds, inc 2 (4:4:2:2:4:4:2:2) st evenly on last rnd. 206 (236:252:274:294:316:336:358:378) sts.
Set Cable Pattern as folls: Rnd 1: P4 (4:5:4:6:5:6:6:7), [work Rnd 1 of Cable Patt following chart or written instructions, P4 (3:4:3:4:3:4:3:4)] 4 (5:5:6:6:7:7:8:8) times, work Rnd 1 of chart, P3 (3:5:3:5:4:6:5:6), pm; rep from * once more.
Work Rnds 2-28 of chart as set, then work Rnds 1-6 once more.
Work should meas approx. 17cm from cast-on edge.
Next rnd: Purl.
Next rnd: Purl, dec 4 (8:8:8:8:8:8:8:8) sts spaced evenly around. 202 (228:244:266:286:308:328:350:370) sts.
Cont in rev st st until work measures 23 (24:24:25:25:26:27:27:28) cm from cast-on edge.
Knit 2 rnds. Purl 2 rnds. Rep last 4 rnds until work measures 34 (35:35:36:36:37:38:38:39) cm from cast-on edge, then work 2 more knit rnds.
