Dear Readers - We love words at The Lady, as I’m sure you do, too. Presumably it’s why you buy the magazine – unless, God forbid, you just use it for lighting the fire. Either way, it’s our mutual passion for good writing and reading that makes our Literary Lunches and Afternoon Teas such special events. Most recently, we had the honour of hosting one of the world’s bestselling authors, Barbara Taylor Bradford, who has just penned her 30th novel, The Cavendon Women. While the rest of us tucked into champagne and cake, Barbara was interviewed by the writer and broadcaster Annabel Giles, before presenting our very special The Lady of Substance award to one quite exceptional reader, as you can read on page 18. But don’t worry – we have plenty more dates for your diary. At the next event, on 21 April, we will gather at London’s historic Caledonian Club for a delicious three-course lunch, during which you will hear from three brilliant authors: Felix Francis, who continues his father’s legacy with his own ‘Dick Francis’ thrillers; Samantha Norman, who finished her mother Ariana Franklin’s much-anticipated historical novel, Winter Siege, and The Lady’s very own astrologer, Victor Olliver.
