Dear Readers, Everything that has a beginning has an end – at least as far as I am aware – and so the end of my time here at The Lady now approaches. It is almost time to say goodbye. It has been an extraordinary four-and-a-half years. I have spent time with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan, been locked in the world’s coldest room and have been chased by bloodhounds through the exquisite grounds of Chatsworth House. I have met some truly amazing people (many of you among them) and have had the privilege of guiding the magazine through its 130th year. And together, my team and I have had some memorable successes. We have won awards – indeed we are up for the prestigious PPA Consumer Magazine of the Year gong in July – increased circulation in a turbulent market and changed the face of The Lady so that it looks to the future while celebrating its past and heritage. This is not my final farewell. I will remain here until a brilliant successor has been found and is comfortably installed in The Boudoir, but it is time for me to say a (slightly tearful) heartfelt thank you for your support, advice and occasional tickings-off . I really will miss you all, but I am certain that the only way forward for The Lady now is up… and up. Very best wishes, Matt Warren, Editor
