Dear Reader, For the quiz addicts among us, University Challenge remains the gold standard of this competitive sport. Who can forget the rare thrill of shouting out the correct answer at the flummoxed undergraduates on the screen? This week, executive producer Peter Gwyn has set us our very own Challenge, comprising 12 taxing questions and bonuses. So fingers on buzzers and no conferring until next week when we will reveal the answers. It should come as no surprise to discover that most of them were influenced by the women in their lives.
