It’s always reassuring to learn that superstars have their vulnerabilities just like the rest of us. Hugh Grant’s disarming confession that he felt intimidated at the prospect of working alongside the great Meryl Streep in her latest film, Florence Foster Jenkins, is a case in point. It is, of course, unlikely that the brilliant Miss Streep would dream of upstaging anyone – but can the same be said of the dogs who appear with their owners in the reality TV show Gogglebox? Might they in fact be the real stars of this quirky programme? Could we get to a point where the owners are pushed off the sofa altogether and we end up watching dogs watching television? If the popularity of YouTube videos of domestic pets doing charming things is anything to go by, it may not be long before the hounds featured this week are the ones with a huge Twitter following...
