Dear Readers, According to the Met Office, autumn in the UK begins on 1 September – making this our last edition of the summer. But given the vagaries of British weather it won’t be surprising if 2016 still has plenty of fine days to come, providing many an opportunity to explore our lovely countryside. Twitchers, ramblers and lovers of country churches and village greens will find late summer and early autumn an ideal time to pursue their interests, as will those who fancy foraging for the fruits, vegetables and fungi of nature’s larder (hunter-gatherers take note: this week’s food column features some mouth-watering recipes for foraged foodstuffs). And those who yearn for the seaside may be tempted by our Globetrotter travel column, showcasing the delights of Wales’s spectacular coastline. Our fashion feature is also determined to make the most of summer’s last hurrah, with a tempting selection of outfits and accessories in cheerful sunburst hues. Of course, no matter how pretty a frock or blouse, what goes underneath can make or break the finished look – and yes, it seems that a staggering 83 per cent of us are still wearing the wrong size bra.
