Tigers to prowl in another new den

TRURO CITY will play their final 12 home league games at Taunton Town’s Wordsworth Drive home to given them the best chance of completing their season.

The White Tigers have been playing their home games at Plymouth Parkway’s Bolitho Park since the start of the 2021-22 campaign in preparation for their move into their new stadium next season.

But due to the problems that Bolitho Park has experienced with the weather this winter, the club have been forced into a rethink to ensure they fulfil their National League South fixtures.

The agreement also eases pressure at cash-strapped Taunton, who were placed under an transfer embargo this week following the issue of a winding up petition.

The decision was met with a mixed response from the Cornish locals, who must now make a 240-mile trip for a home game, as opposed to a 110-mile trip previously.

ATruro statement read: “This decision to move was not made lightly, and we recognise that in some ways it makes it even more difficult for our incredibly loyal supporters to be with us in our last matches outside Cornwall.

“However, we consider that this temporary arrangement will help the club to best meet our remaining match day commitments for this season.

“With such a momentous return home now confirmed for this summer, our time and energy away from the pitch is focused on making the imminent move to our brand-new facility
