Who says Advent is just for the kids? Treat yourself to a spot of stitching just for you with a scene designed by Fiona Baker that's straight out of a winter night’s dream. Featuring icy animal sculptures frozen in time outside the cosiest of cottages with moonlight streaming down around them all, this is a timeless stitch to treasure.
We used a 'Snowy Night' aida, created especially for this project by Sew-it-All*, which has a lovely ombré-style transition of colour, from the starry night sky to the snowy ground below. The colour changes of the fabric do most of the work for you, making it a simpler project to complete. Just be sure to position your starting stitch, so the trees cover the colour transition area, referring to our photos for guidance. The plastic canvas snowflake is easy to cut out and use as a window to spotlight the dates. You’ll enjoy marking the days off in December as you slide it along the picturesque landscape at this most magical time of year.

Wow. This Advent calendar is absolutely on my to-stitch list. I love making decorations that my children can interact with. For me the full moon and rabbit really capture the magic that comes with this special time of year.
TOP TIP
If you prefer to stitch on white fabric, add dark blue half stitches above the trees and around the moon for the sky
