These timeless designs are perfect for little ones

Q I was wondering if similar charts are available of Peter Rabbit, or anything from Beatrix Potter, of spring, summer and winter, like the autumn pumpkin design in issue 324 (October 2022)? I thought it would be a great way to cover a toy box in four seasons of pictures.

Marta D, via Facebook

AFiona: We’ve featured other Peter Rabbit designs with a Peter clutching a flowerpot in issue 305 (April 2021) and an Easter Peter, spring chicks and daffodils pattern in 292 (April 2020), which could help to contribute to your set. We also had a special Beatrix Potter calendar featuring Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Jemima Puddle-Duck and more, which came with issue 300 (December 2020). Although we’re yet to feature a specific wintry design of the popular rabbit, you could stitch one of these designs on a frosty blue fabric and add your own snow to the scene. We hope some of these ideas may suit for your toy box cover. If you don’t have these issues at home, you can download the digital issues via the WOXS app for £4.99. You could also search for complete copies of these issues on eBay or other second-hand websites.

Q I’ve tried to go on your website www.cross-stitching.com to enter competitions from your magazine but it isn’t working for me. Why can’t I get onto your site as normal?

Elizabeth Redhead, via Facebook

AVicki: That particular website closed down quite a number of years ago now, and was transferred to our current website address, www.gathered.how. From here you’ll find lots of exciting crafty competitions to enter from The World of Cross Stitching, plus our craft sister titles, such as Simply Sewing and Simply Knitting magazines. There are always kits, charts, craft lamps, vouchers, yarn and more up for grabs, so it's well worth checking out.
