Equality’s march

In honor of this August’s 60th anniversary of the March on Washington, TIME hosted an Aug. 10 dinner in Atlanta for more than 100 leaders. Held at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, in partnership with American Family Insurance, the event featured speakers including Stacey Abrams, former Georgia house minority leader, who talked about honoring Martin Luther King Jr. “We must live his legacy by living the March every single day,” she said. “And together we can march towards that dream.” Read more at time.com/atlanta-dinner

New TIME Studios doc

The TIME Studios documentary Ayenda—screened at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival—will air on MSNBC on Aug. 27 at 10 p.m. E.T. and will be available on Peacock. It follows members of the Afghan women’s soccer team after the Taliban regained control of Kabul in 2021.
