TIME at Sundance

Frida—a documentary about the legendary Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, co-produced by TIME Studios, Ron Howard, and Brian Grazer for Imagine—is set to premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival (Jan. 18–28). Directed by Carla Gutiérrez (who worked as an editor on docs like RBG and Julia), it’s the first film to tell Kahlo’s story in her own words, drawing from various sources including intimate letters and her own illustrated diary.
