Spring flourish

As we look forward to the warmer weather and the longer days that arrive with spring, you might want to start thinking about sowing seeds to enjoy come summer. However, if you haven’t been blessed with a gardening gene, how about relishing in the bounty found in the new Green Thumb collection by Laundry Basket Quilts for Andover Fabrics? The 28 bold prints feature a combination of beautiful florals and abundant foliage, as well as complementary abstract patterns. Pair the prints with solids and you’ll have the perfect quilt to freshen up your living space this spring.

Back to school

We couldn’t be prouder and more excited to share that three of our regular designers are launching an online teaching platform for quilters this spring. You will know them as Jo Avery, Lynne Goldsworthy and Karen Lewis, and together they have created The Thread House Academy. After successfully running sewing retreats both online and in person, their new online school will offer crafters live classes, pre-recorded sessions and a community of quilters to engage with. There will be three terms a year, and the first begins in March with a deep dive into using up your stash to make scrappy projects and a bonus appliqué masterclass. Sign up on a term-by-term basis or purchase an annual subscription – go, go, go! academy.thethreadhouse.co.uk

ON THE GO

Keep your essentials all in one place with these handy zip pouches. They’ve been designed by quilting friends Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins, who have not only been running their quilting business, Piece O’ Cake Designs, for nearly 20 years, they also find time to host in-person workshops, present a YouTube channel, write books and more! The pouches are made using recycled plastic fabric, which is durable enough to store your sharp quilting and sewing tools, so they’re perfect for crafting small projects on the go.
