Notes

■ *You may wish to use more prints for more variety.

■ Seam allowances are ¼in, unless otherwise noted.

■ Press after each seam.

■ Press seams open, unless otherwise instructed.

■ Press all fabrics well before cutting.

■ WOF = width of fabric – a strip of fabric cut from selvedge to selvedge, approx. 42in.

■ WOFQ = a strip of fabric cut from selvedge to centre cut edge, approx. 21in.

■ BKG = background.

■ HST(s) = half-square triangle(s).

Cutting out

1 From the dark blue prints, cut the following:

■ Twenty (20) 2½in x WOFQ strips, subcut into the following:

– Thirteen (13) strips into fifty-two (52) 2½in x 4½in lengths.

– Seven (7) strips into fifty-two (52) 2½in squares.

■ Seven (7) 7in squares.

2 From the light blue prints, cut the following:

■ Eight (8) 2½in x WOFQ strips, subcut into sixty-four (64) 2½in squares.

■ Three (3) 6¼in x WOFQ strips, subcut into eight (8) 6¼in squares.

■ Three (3) 7in x WOFQ strips, subcut into eight (8) 7in squares.

■ One (1) 7½in square.

3 From the beige fabrics, cut the following:

■ Six (6) 6¼in x WOFQ strips, subcut into twelve (12) 6¼in x 9¼in rectangles.

■ Eight (8) 2½in WOFQ strips, subcut into sixty (60) 2½in squares.

4 From the cream and light blue prints, cut forty-five (45) 2½in x WOFQ strips. Subcut into the following:

– Eleven (11) strips into thirty-two (32) 2½in x 6½in lengths.

– Eight (8) strips into sixteen (16) 2½in x 8½in lengths.

– Twenty-six (26) strips into fifty-two (52) 2½in x 10½in lengths.

5 From the background (BKG) fabric, cut the following:

■ Two (2) 7in x WOF strips, subcut into seven (7) 7in squares and two (2) 6¼in squares.

■ Eight (8) 2½in x WOF strips, cut into one-hundred-and-twenty-five (125) 2½in squares.

■ Four (4) 4⅞in x WOF strips, subcut into twenty-six (26) 4⅞in squares. Cut each square in half on the diagonal once to yield fifty-two (52) triangles.
