BEHIND THE QUILT FESTIVE FABRICS

“I always enjoy working with Liberty fabrics, and their ‘Deck The Halls’ Christmas collection is no exception. The collection is a fun mix of conversational prints designed in two colour stories, modern and traditional. Both are equally gorgeous, so it was difficult to choose between them. In the end, though, I plumped for the modern collection, which includes frosty teals, pops of pink and bright cheery yellows. I was, of course, mindful that all of the prints are available in both colourways, so I wanted my pattern to work just as well with the traditional collection if that should be your preference.

“I wanted to let the fabrics shine, and for you to see as much of the beautiful festive prints as possible, so I tried to keep the blocks as big and as unbroken as I could. I also wanted to include every fabric from the collection as I really couldn’t choose a favourite, hence the three by three wreath block layout – the tenth fabric was perfect for the background, and I also managed to squeeze in two co-ordinating blenders for the bows, accent borders and binding.” – Amanda Little
