BOM FABRICS REQUIREMENTS
Here’s a list of the fabric requirements to make the whole set of blocks in the BOM series. Lynne used Janet Clare Collage Collection throughout
The Dark Team
Lynne used three (3) of the dark Ink range, 20in x WOF (½m) of each:
■ 16954 20 – a small abstract print on the dark background.
■ 16950 16 – a larger overall print on the dark background.
■ 16953 15 – a design using long leaves, which gives a flash of that sharp lime green on the dark Ink background. Lynne also used the leafy Ink design (16953 15) for the narrow strips that join the blocks together and bind the quilt edges – 30in x WOF (¾m), making a total of 50in x WOF (1¼m) of this fabric.
The Medium Team
The same designs are used in this medium Sky range, with a blue/green overall colour.
Lynne chose four (4) fabrics from this range, including a small check.
■ A fat quarter of medium fabric 16954 15 – the small abstract print.
■ 52in x WOF (1.3m) of medium fabric 16950 14 – the larger overall print.
■ 14in x WOF (35cm) of medium fabric 16953 13 – the long leaf design.
■ 16in x WOF (40cm) of medium fabric 16957 15 – the check design.
The Light Range (including the 2 background fabrics)
Lynne used small amounts of two (2) fabrics in the light Parchment range in the blocks, but mainly the two (2) background fabrics throughout.
■ ⅓yd (30cm) of light fabric 16951 12 – an abstract print with blues and lime green on cream.
■ ⅓yd (30cm) of light fabric 16953 11 – long leaves in lime green on cream.
Background fabrics
■ 30in x WOF (¾m) of light fabric 16954 13 – the patterned background fabric.
■ 4¼yds (3.8m) of light fabric 16957 11 – the plainer background fabric, a faint check in cream on cream.
Cornerstone fabric
Lynne used the same fabric for the cornerstone squares on each block and also as cornerstones on the outer border frame on each block, eight (8) squares in each block, so one-hundred-and-sixty (160) squares in total, each cut 2in x 2in.
■ 20in x WOF (½m) of lime green fabric from the Leaf collection 16957 17 – a sharp green check design.
A tweaked version also acts as an extra block in the series to make up the numbers for the quilt. This second block includes the overlapping curved layers featured in the first block, but on a larger scale. The windmill effect is also slightly asymmetrical
