I have just finished the ‘Tree of Life’ quilt, which was in a recent issue of TQ magazine. I loved the setting of the blocks – but the complex instructions nearly put me off! As I find it difficult to download templates, I actually made the numerous half-square triangles with Thangles papers and a jelly roll I had of Moda’s Even More Paper fabric. I had to buy a second too! However, this worked out very well and gave the background some variety. The blues were all from another Moda fabric – Yukata. I added a plain border to frame the quilt and it was beautifully longarm quilted with a simple spray of leaves by Debbie from Scrapbox-Quilting. I think it has turned out well and I am quite proud of finishing quite a complex quilt.

Stunning sampler

This is my first-ever quilt. I attended a sampler quilt course at our local craft studio, Made and Making in Hassocks (West Sussex), and this is the result. I learnt so much and I hope you like it.
