STAR LETTER

Congratulations on celebrating 350 issues! I thoroughly enjoyed reading the article on all your past covers and loved the nostalgic feeling it brought me. I remember very clearly at age 15 buying issue 23, with Jennifer Lopez on the cover (I bought it for the movie content, honest!). Shortly after, I became a subscriber – which I still am today, more than 25 years later. I’ve gone from that randy lad with a massive crush on Jennifer Lopez to an almost 41-year-old, married (sadly not to Jennifer) father of two, and TF has been there the entire time. Here’s to another 350 issues! PS: Still have a crush on Jennifer Lopez. PPS: I can confirm this email has been approved by my actual wife.

GLENN PELL, NORFOLK

Thanks very much, Glenn. Amazing to think we’ve been in a love triangle with you and J.Lo this past quarter-century without even knowing it. It’s like a cleaner version of Challengers (though when it gets to deadline week we can easily out-sweat those tennis players). Glenn and everyone with a letter printed here will receive a copy of survival drama The End We Start From, out now on Blu-ray via Signature Entertainment. Didn’t send an address? Email it! Or you’ll sadly miss the end, the start and everything in between!

PAPER CHASE

Though I’ve never been based in the UK, I was lucky enough to discover the first issue of Total Film in 1997 in Brussels. Since then, I’ve lived in Paris and Denmark and read every single issue, until September 2023 when I moved to a remote village in South Africa, and I knew it was time to say goodbye. I know you have a digital version but I’m one of your ‘old’ readers and need to feel the paper. Anyway, after a few weeks, the lack of TF was too much, and I ordered issue 343, which I could not have been happier to have received. So, what now? Will I order an issue here and there? You bet I will. Will I look for TF every time I set foot in Europe? Definitely! I will make sure to find my way to an issue wherever I can.

That’s good to hearand fingers crossed you’ll be making like the Griswolds and embarking on a European vacation soon (without any mishaps involving wrecked monuments and rental-car kidnappings, that is). But please do consider a digital subscription, which comes with access to our back-issue archive: no paper, but all the feels.
