“All of our badass shades speak to the four Fs: Fun, Fashionable, Functional, and 'Ffordable.” So says Goodr. Certainly, these good-looking shades are brilliant value and great performers – the lenses are polarised with UV400 protection. They’re also full of fun. This design is called ‘Freshly Baked Man Buns’, but if you prefer something a little less hipster there are a load of different frame shape and colourway combinations available – other favourites of ours include ‘Donkey Goggles’ and ‘A Ginger’s Soul’ (completely black, if you were wondering). Goodr is also 100% carbon neutral and a member of 1% For The Planet.

Our eyes need protection in the hills – whether from the potentially damaging UV of the sun, or the icy sting of spindrift – and a good pair of glasses or goggles is the best way to do just that…

Bollé Bedrock £35

They may not look quite as funky as mirror-lensed ski goggles (see our Oakley review), but a pair of simple, sturdily built and well ventilated clear-lensed (Cat 0) goggles are a vital piece of winter equipment. These from Bollé are just that. They’ll protect your eyes in a blizzard or spindrift without reducing light, allowing you to navigate to safety. Thanks to their anti-fog treatment they also do a good job of remaining fog-free, which is equally important if you want to be able to see clearly to find your way off the hill.
