VIEW WITH A ROOM
There’s a quieter part of the Peak District that really doesn’t get the attention it deserves. This lovely little cosy cottage for 4 is in the west of the Peak District, and surrounded by excellent walking country. From the door you can hike to Shuttlingsloe, Shining Tor, Macclesfield Forest and Goyt’s Moss, with Lud’s Church and the Roaches 15mins drive away. The pub over the road is temporarily closed, but you can self-cater, or head out to the excellent Ship Inn at Wincle, or be amazed at the burgers from the Forest Snug Food van at the Macclesfield Forest Visitor Centre (made by Tim, whose background is more 5-star sous chef than greasy takeaway!). plattin-inn.co.uk
