Sage’s new Spey II reels are the result of 40 years of design and an enduring passion for migratory fish. Internally, the reels feature a redesigned Sealed Carbon System (SCS) drag, improved with newly formulated O-ring seals and dual-clickers. These make a heart-racing sound, ensure dependability and prevent unwarranted spool rotation. Weight and balance have received much attention in the design process with updated model sizing and a centre-of-mass balanced reel foot to better complement the matching Sage Spey rods.
A full-frame design eliminates the possibility of shooting lines slipping between spool and frame, while the addition of a machined, curved reel foot allows the leader, tip or tippet to be wrapped around it without kinking.
