Five products to look out for this month

INSIDER

1Mission 778X

£549

This is the first Mission-branded stereo amplifier since 1983 when the original 778 launched; this new X model brings a lot of the benefits of the original but freshens it up to compete with modern stereo amps. Inputs include asynchronous USB Type B and three S/PDIF sockets (coaxial and 2x optical), plus three stereo RCA inputs (two line-level plus MM phono), designed to accommodate both digital and analogue sources. Digital outputs come as optical and coaxial, and it can be connected to an external power amp via the pre-out sockets. Finally, you have the biggest shift since the original 1983 release – Bluetooth compatibility. We hope it will be worth the 40-year wait.

3iFi Go Link

£55

This portable DAC lets you supercharge audio on your smartphone, tablet or computer via a USB-C connection. The Go Link comes in at a very attractive price, but that doesn’t mean iFi has skimped on features. Inside this super-portable DAC you will find a high-performance chip from ESS Technology’s Sabre HiFi series, combined with Quad Dac+ and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technologies, as well as iFi’s dedicated clock circuitry. All of this combines to help kill off distortion and enhance dynamic range. There are adapters in the box for Apple products and regular USB too.
