While most of us would absolutely love a giant QD-OLED screen for watching our movies, a new TV at any level can feel like a pricey luxury at the moment. And it’s certainly true that you can spend a pretty penny on some of the latest flagship models. But, if you’re on a tight budget, there are a handful of brands making decent TVs at the lower end of the price spectrum, including Amazon, Samsung and Hisense, whose low-priced TVs you will find over the following pages.

Our trio of super-affordable yet recommendable TVs at their price might not offer the very latest fancy panel tech, but they will all do a good enough job of producing entertainingly watchable pictures and even half-decent sound. As with all things budget, there are compromises that have been made to features and picture quality compared with mid-range or premium sets, but judged by our performance-per-pound metric when testing products, these TVs are very good value indeed.
