THIS Polish campervan firm is a fairly new entrant into the UK market, but its highly impressive Voyager Z model took overall victory at the 2023 Campervan of the Year awards. Not a company to rest on its laurels, however, Globe-Traveller has now developed two models based on Volkswagen’s Crafter as an alternative to the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer that underpin the rest of its current range.

Called Falcon, these newcomers were on display at Düsseldorf ’s Caravan Salon. While the longer (6.84m) Falcon 2Z has a similar layout to the Voyager Z, albeit with a slightly different lounge arrangement, the 2XS model is a totally new concept for the marque. Instead of the regular fixed bed or beds at the back, this version of the Falcon comes with a long side kitchen opposite an equally long sofa – a format somewhat reminiscent of the Mercedes-based Hymer DuoCar S from 2019.

Externally, Globe-Traveller’s specially designed extra-high roof sits neatly integrated on top of the Crafter’s high-top. This allows for a minimum of 1.91m headroom throughout the living area.

There’s a small amount of worktop alongside the hob, with its glass top hiding the burners underneath, while the square sink has a matching matt black mixer tap. An induction cooker is optional to make this model gas-free and, thanks to the 200Ah LiFePO4 battery (you can order a second one as an option), 320W of solar and an inverter as standard, you won’t need to worry too much about electricity consumption. The fridge sits to the right of the kitchen, set at a sensible height with further storage above and below.

The washroom stretches across the back of the ’van. Accessed by a sliding pocket door, it’s a wet room with the composting toilet set to the nearside and a folding basin above. The walls are all in a marble-style board and there’s a decent-size shower area, with a dedicated recess in the wall for toiletri
