Fiat has released further details of the Series 10 Ducato, which we first announced in the February issue. The new van range boasts electric powertrains, a different exterior design, new connectivity systems and next generation ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems).

Fiat Professional has long had a significant presence in the leisure world and the company says that campervans continue to represent, “a strategic asset for the brand,” having established itself as a cornerstone of the recreational vehicle market.

The new Ducato builds on a history going back to 1981 and sales in 80 countries worldwide. The latest version maintains its best-in-class cargo load capacity of up to 17m3and payload of up 2,315kg for the diesel versions.

Diesel engines will have a six-speed manual gearbox paired with the 140hp power unit or a new eight-speed automatic transmission in combination with either 140 or 180hp power outputs. Thanks to several aerodynamic improvements, the new Ducato ensures a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2of up to 5% compared to the previous generation. This is achieved without sacrificing the performance of a powertrain capable of delivering up to 450Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the new all-electric E-Ducato has a 110kWh battery and a range of up to 261 miles (WLTP), a 30% improvement over the previous generation. Its charging system is also completely new and allows 80% battery charging in as little as 55 minutes.

We expect the first motorhomes based on the new (diesel) Ducato to arrive in combination with 2025-season vehicles from the major manufacturers.

PANDA-ING TO THE LEISURE MARKET

Since 1980, the name ‘Panda’ has been synonymous with Fiat’s smallest car, with over eight million produced. Now, Fiat has unveiled a family of Panda-inspired concepts for the future. These will be followed by production models from next July, with the launch of a new version every year until 2027. The new models have been designed to ‘conquer the streets of the world and complete the brand’s line-up’ and, thanks to being a part of Stellantis, Fiat has access to a new global platform, on which it has added its distinctive brand of Italian creativity.

Olivier François, Fiat CEO and Stellantis Global CMO, says, “Fiat is a global brand with 1.3 million cars sold last year and solid leadership in many parts of the world. We are excited to share this glimpse into our future; a very near future, actually, since the first car will be presented in four months d
