The society’s annual fair will feature three talks by local historians – David Hinchliffe on ‘A Most Gross and Groundless Prosecution: the Denby Witchcraft Case of 1674’; Dr David Allen on Georgian silver, who will share pieces from his collection; and Trevor Spencer of the Huddersfield Film Makers Club, showing archival films. There will also be stalls, the chance to consult members of the family history society and search their resources, and transcribed census and parish records available to buy as CDs and booklets, together with a café serving food and drinks. £3.
