If your New Year’s resolution is to get to grips with your family history, this 12-week course from the Society of Genealogists – explaining the essential records for genealogy, where to find them and how you can use them to unlock the secrets of your ancestry – could be just the ticket. The topics covered include getting started, civil registration records, census records, military records, reading old documents and archival research, helping you to add generations to your tree and really understand the historic documents available, many of which are online. £240 including a year’s associate membership of the society, £192 for existing members.
