The Family History Federation, which represents family history societies in England and Wales, has been holding its popular Really Useful Shows for years. They’ve been virtual-only since the Covid-19 pandemic started but this year the organisation is holding two in-person events to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the first of which is in East Anglia. The talks are ‘Bread, Gruel and Suet Dumplings – Workhouse Life’ by Ian Waller, ‘The Future of Family History’ by Nick Barratt and ‘Tithe Enclosure Maps and Records for Genealogists’ by Gill Blanchard. As usual, there will also be free help and research advice from family history societies, family history books on sale and more. Free entry, talks £2 each.
