From his showbiz beginnings on CITV and larking about with Ant & Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway to hosting the likes of Catchphrase and In for a Penny, Stephen Mulhern has always brought a smile to our faces with his feel-good presenting style. But how well do we really know the bubbly magician turned TV star? We asked him to answer Woman’s 10 burning questions.

1 What do you always stock in your fridge?

Chicken, butter, lettuce. I’m trying to get healthy, but I also have pulled beef, which is my guilty pleasure. I’ve got salad dressing, a couple of desserts and a big bar of chocolate. I find it amazing when people say they can’t believe I keep chocolate in the fridge – that’s just the way I like it.

2 What do you keep in your wallet?

Credit cards, money, my Nectar and Costco cards. And I have a little note my sister, Susie, gave me a couple of years ago that says, ‘Anything is possible if you just try.’

I’m a shocking eater, and I can’t even deal with the tins that they eat from – the noise puts me off. There’s no crumpets or toaster in the jungle!

5 How old were you when you had your first kiss?

I was about 13, with a girl who lived on the opposite side of my road. It was very embarrassing as I only realised when I got older that it wasn’t how you should kiss; the only way I can describe it is it was like kissing air!

6 Do you have an embarrassing habit?

I never show my feet. I hate them. If you open a bag of Monster Munch, that’s how I see my feet. I never wear flip-flops – even on holiday, I’ll get very close to the water so no one will see them by the time I get
