LEVI DAVIS ONE YEAR ON

CCTV captured Levi in Barcelona

A famous sportsman, a chilling video and a disappearance out of the blue. It sounds like something from a horror film, but for the family and friends of rugby player-turned-musician Levi Davis, their nightmare couldn’t be more real.

One year on from Levi’s disappearance in Barcelona, his loved ones still don’t have the answers they seek. All the while, rumours about his disappearance have intensified. So, what happened to Levi, and are experts any closer to discovering the truth?

Who is Levi Davis?

Multi-talented Levi, 25, rose to fame as a rugby player, debuting for Bath in 2017 and playing his first Premiership Rugby game in 2019. But rugby wasn’t his only passion. Levi went on to make a name for himself away from the rugby pitch in late 2019 as part of the music group Try Star on The X Factor: Celebrity. It resulted in him signing a record deal as a solo artist. Levi also took part in reality dating series Celebs Go Dating.

Levi’s announcement came after years of battling with anxiety and depression, and he revealed that hiding his sexuality had been taking a toll on his mental health, leading him to drink heavily. With the support of his teammates and fans, it seemed like Levi was finally back on track, at the peak of his rugby and music careers – but there was undoubtedly more going on in Levi’s life than met the eye.

Possible sightings and unconfirmed theories

Police officially launched their search for Levi on 8 November 2022. During their search, CCTV footage emerged of Levi leaving The Old Irish Pub in central Barcelona the day after his arrival, on 30 October. To date, this is the last confirmed sighting of Levi, travelling with nothing but a small, black rucksack.

With each passing day, Levi’s family grew more worried. ‘He left all his stuff [at Richard’s house] and he didn’t go back. That’s what’s even more concerning, because why would you not come back for your clothes?’ his sister Candeece said.

As no new information emerged, speculation swirled. Levi’s mum Julie revealed that her son had been feeling st
