She’s best known for playing the obsessed-about-cleaning flatmate Monica Geller in Friends, but how similar is Courteney Cox, 59, to her on-screen counterpart? Find out as she takes on our 10 burning questions.

1 What do you keep in your handbag? This is kind of an odd one, but earplugs. I really can’t stand noise where I’m trying to sleep. The foam ones they give you on aeroplanes don’t work for me at all – I use this brand where you put them in your ear and they then expand to block out the noise around you.

2 What’s your guilty food pleasure or weirdest food combo?

I don’t think I have weird combinations when it comes to food, aside from when I was pregnant. For some reason I wanted to eat cottage cheese with tomatoes all the time. As soon as I had given birth the craving stopped and I couldn’t understand why I wanted it. It’s crazy what hormones do to you!

3 Do you have an embarrassing habit? The kitchen is the most important room in our house – I’m always cooking and having people over. I have the most gorgeous black surfaces and I can’t stand seeing handprints on them. I’ll literally go around spraying and wiping down after you. It’s a bit of a weird habit, but thankfully all my family and friends are used to it so nobody gets offended!

4 What’s your biggest pet peeve?

Apart from obviously people leaving handprints on my kitchen surfaces, it’s things not being organised or not in order. If I open a cupboard and it’s not how I left it, my ADHD won’t allow me to walk away without sorting it.

5 Who is your celebrity crush?

While obviously I can appreciate a handsome man, I’m more attracted to talent. While filming Ace Ventura I remember crushing on Jim [Carrey, below] because he was just so insanely talented and funny.

6 What or who do you love most in the world? There’s no doubt that motherhood changes everything. Before motherhood you think so many things matter, but after you realise that only one thing really matters. Coco is the love of my life – and it’s the biggest honour to be able to say to her I’m her mum. Our walks and talks on the beach are the moments I cherish more than anything else in the world.

7 What’s your biggest regret?

My biggest beauty regret is fillers. There’s so much pressure to stay looking young
