The Primrose Hill set were famous for their partying in the 90s. Now, Woman looks at how they’ve gone from party girls to wellness warriors

SADIE ‘I wake up early and meditate’

Actor Sadie Frost, who recently joined Kate Moss for her 50th celebrations, was one of the iconic nightlife figures in the 90s. But like her pal Kate, she has now swapped late nights for yoga and meditation. Sadie, 58, who was married to Jude Law from 1997 until 2003, has said of her love of meditation, ‘I think that if I had discovered meditation earlier on, it would have helped me deal with so many of the things I have been through… I find it really strengthening and helpful when I’m feeling overwhelmed.’ She added, ‘Over the past 10 years I’ve developed a committed practice, doing it every day and travelling to India at least once a year for a retreat.’

Now that’s what you call a U-turn!

PEARL ‘I swapped swanky parties for flea markets’

Another Primrose Hill set girl who battled addiction is Pearl Lowe. Recalling the incident that changed her life – when she found her toddler son holding a bag of pills in her home – she recalled, ‘That was the moment that I literally went and got help… I was like, “I’ve got to make some massive changes here”.’ Pearl, 53, revealed that another turning point came when she ditched London. ‘The minute we moved to the country I used to pinch myself every single day when we were looking outside and I’d be thinking, “God, it’s so beautiful. Why didn’t I come here earlier?”’ She added, ‘I really didn’t miss [the partying] because I’d done so much of it I was just really thankful to be alive.’

These days, Pearl admits, ‘Instead of going to some swanky party, I’m probably the first person at the flea market in the morning.’

NAOMI ‘It’s about wellness’

A 90s supermodel, Naomi Campbell was once Kate Moss’s sidekick and the pair often partied together. Naomi, 53, has been open about the fact she battled with addiction during these years, admitting, ‘The time between 1998 and 2005 was especially bad. During that time I avoided looking in the mirror, because I didn’t like the person who was looking back at me.’ She added, ‘There were times I thought I wouldn’t survive. I used to have a lot of problems. Amongst others I drank too much so I joined Alcoholics Anonymous to get and stay sober.’
