KATE

Kate Garraway hit back when she received online abuse for laughing on her return to Good Morning Britain. The presenter, 56, was back on our screens alongside friend and co-host Ben Shephard after ‘taking some time’ following the tragic passing of her husband Derek Draper in January.

Calling the haters out Kate said, ‘I got a bit of flak on social media yesterday for laughing with you [Ben], as if that implied I didn’t care... I have to laugh!’ She continued, ‘But when you laugh, you’re laughing because you want the joy that person brought to continue. And you know that people watching at home have got troubles in their life and you want to share that joy with them. So it’s a licence to laugh and to cry and to be all things.’

Later in the programme the mum-of-two admitted she’s been feeling ‘very numb’ since losing her husband of 18 years and said she is only in the ‘first stages of grief’. She added, ‘We are not equipped for loss. No one is equipped for it. Nobody wants to be able to face it but we are all going to come [up] against it at some point in our lives.’

Kate also said that she was learning how to support her grieving children Darcey, 17, and Billy, 14. ‘I’m trying to help my children; one thing they’ve said is that people don’t know what to say to them. They want to help other people to feel comfortable to still have a relationship with them.’

PLANS FOR PRINCESS

Peter Andre and Katie Price’s daughter Princess has huge plans to follow in her famous parents’ footsteps, it seems. The 16-year-old revealed her hopes to enter the world of reality TV – specifically the I’m A Celebrity jungle, where the nation watched her parents meet and fall in love 20 years ago.

Princess said, ‘It would be really crazy if me and Junior [her brother, pictured inset] went on I’m A Celeb together because we were the first kids born out of the show.’ She added, ‘Going on there would be amazing. I think even though I’d be scared, I’d be able to push through… It would be quite cool to go on it and just see what it was like for them.’

Recently Princess has made a name for herself away from her parents, however, signing a lucrative deal with fashion brand PrettyLittleThing and releasing her own jewellery collection, as well as training to become a qualified beautician.
