Eamonn to replace Alison?

She took over his Friday slot on This Morningback in January 2021 but could the tables be turning for Eamonn Holmes and Alison Hammond?

Alison, 49, was recently announced as the late Paul O’Grady’s replacement to host For the Love of Dogs, but it seems fans think dog lover Eamonn would be a more suitable choice.

When Eamonn, 64, who cares for rescue dog Maggie with wife Ruth Langsford, shared an Instagram post about giving abandoned dogs a home, fans were quick to tell him he’d make the ideal replacement for Paul.

One commented, ‘Eamonn should take over from Paul O’Grady. Alison is not an animal lover and does not have pets.’ Another added, ‘Wish you were going to be the new presenter of For the Love of Dogs.’ While a third agreed, saying, ‘You would have been a great replacement for the late wonderful Paul O’Grady.’

On being announced as the new presenter of the show, which is set at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Alison said in January, ‘I am very aware that I can never replace the iconic Paul in this wonderful series. But if I can continue to shine a light on the brilliant work done at Battersea and help to tell the stories of these beautiful dogs, then it will be an absolute privilege to give it my all.’

Fans reckon Eamonn is top dog
